Financial Literacy

Today we had a special visitor, Tessa Knight, from the ASB come and talk to us about financial literacy.
We learnt that safe places to keep money are a wallet and a bank.
That we can get money from the bank out using eftpost cards

She talked about what we would do if we had $100.
Here are some ideas:

  • a $90 tour
  • The Suicide Squad DVD
  • 50 chocolates

She taught us a chant:
When you earn some money, what do you do?
Spend some on you and save some too!

We also learnt about shopping around instead of buying straight away to save money.

Stu Duvall

Stu Duvall came to VAS today.
He is a great storyteller and had us hanging on his words.
He began by asking us for characters and settings to include in a story.
He drew an amazing picture to set the scene
He then created a story on-the-spot which included nearly all the ideas!
Great fun!
