Stardome Trip

We had a great trip to Stardome Observatory last week.
Our educator, David, introduced the Solar System to us and helped us think about each of the planets and begin to think about their size and distance from the sun.
After that we worked in groups to solve a quiz.
We walked all around the exhibitions and learnt all about planets and space.
Then it was time for our movie - the Perfect Little Planet - some aliens were looking for a vacation spot.
Then David showed us the sky above us - constellations and planets.

Art-a-noon Tea Party

What a great week we have had with our Art-a-noon Tea Party and Student led interviews.
Room 19 have done a great job sharing their learning in these different ways.

We are delighted to say we've raised $350 to give to World Vision.
The class has chosen where they'd like it to be donated - they want to support education, health and food.

Here are some snapshots of our class with their art.
Each child chose what their design would be - our warm ups included koru art, designs from around the Pacific and designs that were significant to them or their family.

What is Space?

Today Room 19 asked the question "What is Space?"
We all typed our ideas into Answer Garden.
Here is what we came up with...
