In our third session of drama, we made 'photograph' poses to represent the beginning, middle and end of the story Giraffe's Can't Dance.
In the beginning, Gerald is left out while the other animals dance
In the middle, Gerald is talking to a cricket in the moonlight
At the end, Gerald is the star of the show while the other animals watch amazed.
Here are our photos.

Pepeha
Room 19 have been learning about introducing ourselves in Te Reo Maori with a short pepeha.
Alongside this we've been creating artworks of our maunga (mountain),
awa/moana (river/ocean) and waka.
We think they look amazing!
Here is a sneak peek!

Visiting Chinese Musicians
On Monday we were fortunate to have some Chinese musicians come and perform for us.
There were nine performers with different Chinese instruments including:
Xiao - a Chinese flute,
Erhu - single string bowed instrument,
Zither hit string instrument,
Pipa - plucked stringed instrument (held on knee)
Guzheng - plucked horizontal instrument (horizontal on a stand)
Some Year 4 students danced to some of the songs.
Here are some comments from students in our class:
Fabian: It was incredible the people who played the instruments
Tom: Amazing music!
Esther: They played beautifully
Lucia: It is so amazing how the Year 4s danced
Harry: It was amazing to see how well those people played their instruments
Sebastian: They are very good Chinese musicians
Knox: That was making me feel relaxed

Stardome Trip
We had a great trip to Stardome Observatory last week.
Our educator, David, introduced the Solar System to us and helped us think about each of the planets and begin to think about their size and distance from the sun.
After that we worked in groups to solve a quiz.
We walked all around the exhibitions and learnt all about planets and space.
Then it was time for our movie - the Perfect Little Planet - some aliens were looking for a vacation spot.
Then David showed us the sky above us - constellations and planets.
